Everything you need to know about YES Camp 

Program

Day 1 - Friday, August 8

Camp officially kicks off Friday afternoon at Boxwoods, the beautiful lakeside retreat center at Camp Cho-Yeh. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into an energetic and inclusive space designed for learning and growth.

Highlights include:

  • Camper arrival and team orientation

  • Indoor mixer and community-building games

  • An exciting kickoff program to set the tone

  • Late-night wellness activities, bonding, and reflections

 

Whether this is your first leadership camp or your tenth, Friday night will have you saying: “I found my people.”

Day 2 Morning - Saturday, August 9

Saturday is the heart of YES Camp — where personal growth meets powerful programming. You'll engage with our incredible lineup of guest speakers, dive deep into wellness and leadership workshops, and compete in the epic YES Quest, a camp-wide challenge inspired by games, strategy, and teamwork.

🗣 Featured Speakers & Sessions:

  • Judge Christopher V. Phan (Keynote) – From Vietnam to the bench: a story of service and resilience

  • Dr. Anhlan Nguyen – Emotional intelligence and living with GRACE

  • Dr. Dung Ngo – Mental wellness in the Vietnamese community

  • Dr. Renea Skelton – Unleashing your inner leader through self-awareness

Program

Day 2 Afternoon - Saturday, August 9 

A full day of inspiring speakers, wellness workshops, and the epic YES Quest — a high-energy challenge combining fun, creativity, and team spirit!

  • Rosie Nguyen – Mastering storytelling and online presence

  • Lena Ngoc Nguyen – Self-defense techniques rooted in Vietnamese martial arts

  • Julie Trinh – Learn a fun K-Pop dance routine

 

🌀 Activities & Workshops Include:

  • The YES Quest: part strategy game, part talent showcase, part epic fun

  • Fireworks

  • Bonfire

 

From laughter to deep learning, Saturday is the day you’ll remember forever.

Day 3 - Sunday, August 10

Our final day is a moment to reflect, recharge, and carry everything you’ve learned into the real world. It’s not the end — it’s the beginning of your next chapter.

Highlights include:

  • A calm morning wellness session

  • Campsite activities: archery, axe throwing...

  • Closing reflections and acknowledgements

  • The YES Ceremony: celebrating you and your growth

  • Departing with lifelong friendships, purpose, and passion

What to Bring

Our Suggested Packing List:

​Must Bring

  • One item from home you haven’t used in the past year — it might be someone else’s treasure! (Examples: a book, gently worn hat, small plushie, unused journal, quirky mug, old keychain, or fun accessory)

  • 1 water bottle or canteen

 

Clothing

  • 1 light jacket

  • 1 pair of closed toe shoes such as sneakers or athletic shoes

  • 1 pair of water shoes for the waterfront activities such as slippers or crocs

  • 1 swimsuit/swim trunk for waterfront activities/swimming pool

  • 1-2 bath towels

  • 2-3 pairs of underwear & 2 pairs of socks

  • 3 T-shirts or blouses

  • 2 pairs of shorts

  • 1 Sun hat or cap & sunscreen (protection from the sun)

 

Bedding

  • 1 sleeping bag or 2 single sheets and 1 light blanket

  • 1 pillow & 1 laundry bag (old pillow case will work)

 

Toiletries

  • Soap, shampoo and conditioner

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, brush or comb

 

Optional

  • Insect repellent (non-aerosol)

  • Raincoat or poncho or umbrella

  • Beach towel

  • Ear plugs (if you are a light sleeper)

  • Flashlight

 

** Boxwoods is a peanut and tree nut-free camp site. Please don't bring any nuts or peanuts to camp.

Campfire

YES Camp 2025 is happening at Boxwoods at Camp Cho-Yeh — a scenic lakeside retreat in Livingston, TX. From sunrise reflections by Lake Livingston to action-packed outdoor fun, this camp has it all.

Explore: 
Canoeing, kayaking, archery, axe throwing, volleyball, basketball & more.  In addition, campfire nights, late-night bonding, & modern, air-conditioned cabins to rest and recharge.
